CLOW COUNTRY

Touya

Series: Card Captor Sakura
Re-appearances: Hansin Republic, Outo (anime)
Touya is king of Clow Country and older brother of Sakura. He's often teasing Sakura, but it's obvious he loves her very much and will always do his best to protect her. When Syaoran first came to Clow Country, Touya was very suspicious of him, but the "bad" that Touya had sensed in Syaoran slipped away as he opened up more to Sakura. Touya entrusts Syaoran with the task of saving Sakura after she loses her heart, wings and memories at the Clow Ruins. This shows an immense trust Touya has in Syaoran, because after all, Sakura is among his most precious people.
Yukito

Series: Card Captor Sakura
Re-appearances: Hansin Republic, Outo (anime)
Yukito is High Priest of Clow Country with very great power. He transported Syaoran and Sakura to the time-space witch Yuko after Sakura lost her memories. Yukito is a childhood friend of Touya's and often consults him on his unreasonableness, particularly pertaining to Sakura (and Syaoran, and Sakura and Syaoran.) Yukito is a very kind-hearted and warm individual. He is also very dear to Sakura, who is often consoled and given advice from Yukito.
Fujitaka

Series: Card Captor Sakura
Re-appearances: none
Fujitaka was an archeologist who came to Clow Country seeking to excavate the magnificient Clow Ruins. He unfortunately died before excavation could be finished, but before this he had taken in a young and ill-fated Syaoran from the streets. Fujitaka was very kind to Syaoran, who eventually came to call him Father. Fujitaka was an internatioally renown archeologist and had prophesized that the Clow Ruins were mostly hidden under sand and what was seen was only the "tip" of them - he was right.
The Past's King (Clow Reed)

Series: Card Captor Sakura
Re-appearances: none
This man (Clow Reed) is the father of Sakura and Touya, and was also king of Clow Country. When he died, Touya became king. This king authorized Fujitaka to excavate the Clow Ruins and encouraged Sakura to smile for Syaoran and to spend time with him to open up and warm his heart. Clow Reed made the Mokonas with Yuko to help with the journey of Sakura and Syaoran.

FEUDAL JAPAN

Princess Tomoyo (Tomoyo Hime)

Series: Card Captor Sakura
Re-appearances: Hansin Republic (anime), Piffle
Tomoyo is a powerful Miko princess in Feudal Japan. Two of her ninjas are Souma and Kurogane, the latter of whom she transports to the time-space witch Yuko. She does so to quell his ruthless and needless killing. She put a curse on him that would lessen his power each time he killed, which Kurogane is very upset about. Quite obviously, Tomoyo is a figure with great magical and spiritual power.

HANSIN REPUBLIC

Arisugawa Sorata

Series: X/1999
Re-appearances: Koriyo (anime), Piffle
Sorata is a history teacher in the Hansin Republic who provides Sakura, Syaoran, Kurogane, Fay and Mokona a place to stay in the apartment house he runs with his wife Arashi. He and his wife are aware of Yuko, and actually are helping the gang because they owe her a favor. This favor probably had something to do with Sorata's and Arashi's relationship, but is left a mystery.
Arisugawa Arashi

Series: X/1999
Re-appearances: Koriyo (anime)
Arashi is Sorata's wife and the "apple of his eye"; he absolutely adores her. She used to be a Shinto miko (a spiritual maiden from a Shinto shrine.) Arashi therefore has great spiritual power and is very intuitive because of it.
Saitou Masayoshi

Series: CLAMP School Detectives
Re-appearances: Piffle
Masayoshi is a boy that Syaoran and the gang meet early on who tutors them about the various levels of kudan and particularly Shogo's kudan team, and kudan teams in general. He's very eager to help, but he doesn't have much self-confidence. His kudan is only level four (the lowest level), so he idolizes people like Shogo and Syaoran with strong hearts, and resultantly, high level kudan. Masayoshi wants desperately to be stronger and to proteect people. After a huge incident involving his kudan and something very important to Syaoran, Masayoshi finds it in himself to be brave.
Asagi Shogo

Series: X/1999
Re-appearances: Piffle
Shogo is leader of a team of kudan users that use their kudan to fight. His team is "good", in that they don't intentionally harm people or buildings. Shogo's kudan is water type and special level - the highest level of kudan. When Syaoran and the rest end up in Hansin, Shogo is very interested in Syaoran's special level kudan, Rayearth. Shogo also goes to school and helps out with his family business, Asagi Liquors.
Primera

Series: Magic Knight Rayearth
Re-appearances: none
Primera is a popular idol who dances, sings and even has a daytime talk show. She has a huge fan club and fanbase made up of a lot of men who worship her cuteness. Primera is in love with Shogo but is upset because she doesn't get to see him enough. She hears that Shogo took an interest in Syaoran and has him kidnapped in hoping to see Shogo more, but in a huge mishap, Masayoshi is mistaken for Syaoran and kidnapped instead. Primera has a special-level kudan in the form of a microphone that can even change form.

KORIYO (GORYO)

Chunyan (Korean: Chun Hyang)

Series: The Legend of Chunyan
Re-appearances: Piffle
Chunyan is a very fiesty girl who wholeheartedly hates the Ryanban and his dim-witted son. She lives in the town of Ryonfi, where she lets Syaoran and the gang stay (while Kurogane patches her roof destroyed by the Ryanban's magic.) Chunyan cares deeply for her village and her people, and is determined to get the oppressive Ryanban - the man responsible for the death of her powerful Shinban mother - out of power, and avenge her mother's death.
The Ryanban

Series: none
Re-appearances: Piffle
The Ryanban (Yangban were Korean rulers; upper class) is a ruthless man. He came to Koriyo a weak, wandering Shinban magician who suddenly acquired great power and overthrew the just Ryanban. He watches over everything that happens in the country with his powers and can summon powerful, destructive winds to punish those who oppose him. He has various magical arts surrounding his castle to keep out revolting villagers and the amenosa (overseers of the Ryanbans deployed by the government).
The Ryanban's Son

Series: none
Re-appearances: Piffle
The Ryanban's son is dim-witted and power hungry. He takes full advantage of his father's magic by exploiting the taxes of the people of Koriyo and deriving pleasure from terrorizing them. He has a feud going with Chunyan, who hates his guts. He uses the magical fan of Chunyan's mother, who was a powerful Shinban capable of using the secret arts.
Kiishimu

Series: Magic Knight Rayearth anime
Re-appearances: none
Kiishimu is the most powerful Kiishim. The jewel on her headpiece enthralls her to the Ryanban and keeps her from leaving his castle. Because of this, she is just another one of the Ryanban's obstacles to get to him. She uses an extreme form of moxibustion to "melt" intruders. But Kurogane destroyed the jewel on her forehead, setting her free. This allowed Kiishimu to personally take care of the Ryanban...

JADE

Dr. Kyle Rondato (Kyle-sensei)

Series: none

Re-appearances: Piffle
Kyle-sensei welcomes the group to the town of Spirit. He sticks up for them against the local militia and Glosum, who are all very suspicious of them during the trying time with the children going missing. Kyle-sensei does house check-ups on all the children of Spirit, and appears to be a very kind and reasonable man. But could it all just be a cleverly-placed facade?
Glosum

Series: none
Re-appearances: Piffle
Glosum is a wealthy land-owner who lives in the town of Spirit. Because he owns so much of the land around the town, he is a very strong figure. His brusque nature toward Syaoran and the group makes him seem like a tough character and a likely candidate to be responsible for the disappearance of the town's children, but there's more to it than meets the eye. Glosum owns one of the two copies of Spirit's town history.
Princess Emeraude

Series: Magic Knight Rayearth
Re-appearances: none
Princess Emeraude is connected to an ancient legend. It was said that a bird came to her and gave her a magical feather with very strong powers. Shortly after she received the mysterious feather, the king and queen of the castle died, and the children of the town of Spirit began disappearing and were never seen again. This was all at the fault of Princess Emeraude, or so the legend goes...
